Gaming Influence: Thoughts - PlayStation State of Play | June 4, 2025
For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll share my thoughts on the PlayStation State of Play on June 4, 2025.
Before I start, not every game shown in this presentation will be discussed, as I will mainly talk about games that I care about and are interested in. If the games you care about and are interested in don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're just not for me, or it's just that I don't have much to say about them except cool. However, if you're happy with the games that you care about and are interested in, I have nothing to say about it, good for you, and I'm happy for you.
Anyway, let's get started!
Lumines Arise is a puzzle game developed and published by Enhance, which will be released on PS5 and PSVR2 in Fall 2025.
Holy crap! We're getting a new game by the studio that developed Tetris Effect?! Count me in! I love Tetris Effect for its gameplay, art style, and music, and this game replicates just that. It looks like it'll be more than just a puzzle game, as it seems to have more to it, and the fact that we're getting a demo for this game this summer has excited me. Hope to see more of this game once it's released this fall.
PRAGMATA is an action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom, which will be released on the PS5 in 2026.
Holy crap, we haven't seen anything from this game for a very long time, but we finally got to see it again with a release date too! Love the gameplay they showcased here, as it looks to be a third-person shooter with some action in it as well. Plus, the story seems intriguing, and I'm very curious to see how this game will turn out overall. Looking forward to the final result of this game once it's released next year.
ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN is an action-adventure game developed and published by Grasshopper Manufacture and it'll be released on PS5 in 2026.
Holy crap! Suda51 is developing a new game, and it looks amazing! This game is pretty much No More Heroes, but in a sci-fi setting, and it's awesome. Gameplay looks fun, music is catchy, and it has that Suda51 vibe, which I like and appreciate. Looking forward to seeing how the game will turn out once it's released next year.
Silent Hill f is a survival horror game developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on PS5 on September 25, 2025.
Oh my god, this game looks creepy as heck and I love it! That's what Silent Hill is all about, which is that horror, as I feel like the atmosphere in that game really captured it perfectly. The story seems quite interesting, and the gameplay looks intense. If this game is anything like the remake of Silent Hill 2, we're in for a treat. Looking forward to playing the game myself once it's released in three months.
Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is a 2.5D side-scrolling role-playing game developed by ArtPlay and published by 505 Games. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.
Oh my god, we're getting a new Bloodstained game?! Awesome! I do enjoy the Bloodstained games as they're pretty much a spiritual successor to Castlevania with its own twist to it, which I appreciate. What they've showcased here looks to be a prequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, so I'm quite curious to see how the story will turn out. I like what I see with the gameplay so far, as it looks fun too. Looking forward to playing this game once it's released next year.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger is a role-playing game developed by Media Vision and published by Bandai Namco. The game is set to be released on PS5 on October 3, 2025.
We've seen this game in the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, back in February, as this game continues to look great with an official release date now. The story seems very interesting from what they've showcased in the trailer, but I kind of wish they showed more gameplay than they did with this trailer. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to playing the game as it'll be released in four months.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a remaster of the tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PSX in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics. The game will be released on PS5 & PS4 on September 30, 2025.
Oh my god, the rumors were true! This game has been rumored for years, and I wonder if it'll ever happen, but it finally did, and I'm so happy for it! One of my strategy games, and I love the fact that they have the original and the enhanced version, awesome. Love the updated graphics and gameplay refinements with the enhanced version, as well as adding voice acting to it too. Looking forward to replaying this game once it comes out in three months.
Baby Steps is an adventure game developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, Maxi Boch, and Bennett Foddy and published by Devolver Digital. It will be released on PS5 on September 8, 2025.
It's been a while since we last saw this game, which looks to be a fun comedy adventure game with some hilarious moments. I wonder how this game will turn out overall, but whether or not it'll be good, at least it'll be entertaining in some capacity. I'm looking forward to playing the game once it's released in three months.
Hirogami is an action-adventure game developed by Bandai Namco and published by Kakehashi Games. The game is set to be released on PS5 on September 3, 2025.
Wow, didn't really expect Bandai Namco to make a game like this, but it looks very cool. I really like the art style that this game has, as it looks like it's made out of origami, and the gameplay looks to be very fun as well. Hope to see more of this game down the line once it's released in three months.
EVERYBODY'S GOLF HOT SHOTS is a golf game developed by Bandai Namco and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5 on September 5, 2025.
It should be expected that this game would be coming to PlayStation since PlayStation owns the IP, but great to see a confirmation for the game regardless. The game continues to look great, and so cool to see PAC-MAN as a special bonus character to be added to the game. Looking forward to playing this game once it's released in three months.
Overall, this was a great presentation from PlayStation. Even though it was missing that one big first-party reveal that would make it feel E3-like, the third-party games delivered, and they delivered big like it was E3 level, which I love. Also, the reveal of the Project Defiant Wireless Fight Stick was quite cool, as this device will definitely be handy when it comes to classic arcade fighting games, which will be very convenient. Nice to see PlayStation continue to support the PlayStation Classics catalog with games such as Deus Ex, Twisted Metal 3 + 4, and Resident Evil 2 + 3 coming in a few weeks to this summer. Either way, even though they're lacking in the first-party department, they're killing it in the third-party department, as I'm really excited for that. Hope PlayStation will do better in the first-party department next year.
