Gaming Influence: Thoughts - PlayStation State of Play | June 4, 2025

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. However, I will not only be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series but also on video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll share my thoughts on the PlayStation State of Play on June 4, 2025.

Before I start, not every game shown in this presentation will be discussed, as I will mainly talk about games that I care about and are interested in. If the games you care about and are interested in don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're just not for me, or it's just that I don't have much to say about them except cool. However, if you're happy with the games that you care about and are interested in, I have nothing to say about it, good for you, and I'm happy for you.
Anyway, let's get started!

This PlayStation State of Play will cover PS5 games that are coming in the future, so let's get to it!

Lumines Arise is a puzzle game developed and published by Enhance, which will be released on PS5 and PSVR2 in Fall 2025.

Holy crap! We're getting a new game by the studio that developed Tetris Effect?! Count me in! I love Tetris Effect for its gameplay, art style, and music, and this game replicates just that. It looks like it'll be more than just a puzzle game, as it seems to have more to it, and the fact that we're getting a demo for this game this summer has excited me. Hope to see more of this game once it's released this fall.

PRAGMATA is an action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom, which will be released on the PS5 in 2026.

Holy crap, we haven't seen anything from this game for a very long time, but we finally got to see it again with a release date too! Love the gameplay they showcased here, as it looks to be a third-person shooter with some action in it as well. Plus, the story seems intriguing, and I'm very curious to see how this game will turn out overall. Looking forward to the final result of this game once it's released next year.

ROMEO IS A DEAD MAN is an action-adventure game developed and published by Grasshopper Manufacture and it'll be released on PS5 in 2026.

Holy crap! Suda51 is developing a new game, and it looks amazing! This game is pretty much No More Heroes, but in a sci-fi setting, and it's awesome. Gameplay looks fun, music is catchy, and it has that Suda51 vibe, which I like and appreciate. Looking forward to seeing how the game will turn out once it's released next year.

Silent Hill f is a survival horror game developed by NeoBards Entertainment and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on PS5 on September 25, 2025.

Oh my god, this game looks creepy as heck and I love it! That's what Silent Hill is all about, which is that horror, as I feel like the atmosphere in that game really captured it perfectly. The story seems quite interesting, and the gameplay looks intense. If this game is anything like the remake of Silent Hill 2, we're in for a treat. Looking forward to playing the game myself once it's released in three months.

Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement is a 2.5D side-scrolling role-playing game developed by ArtPlay and published by 505 Games. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

Oh my god, we're getting a new Bloodstained game?! Awesome! I do enjoy the Bloodstained games as they're pretty much a spiritual successor to Castlevania with its own twist to it, which I appreciate. What they've showcased here looks to be a prequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, so I'm quite curious to see how the story will turn out. I like what I see with the gameplay so far, as it looks fun too. Looking forward to playing this game once it's released next year.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is a role-playing game developed by Media Vision and published by Bandai Namco. The game is set to be released on PS5 on October 3, 2025.

We've seen this game in the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, back in February, as this game continues to look great with an official release date now. The story seems very interesting from what they've showcased in the trailer, but I kind of wish they showed more gameplay than they did with this trailer. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to playing the game as it'll be released in four months.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a remaster of the tactical role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PSX in 1997, Final Fantasy Tactics. The game will be released on PS5 & PS4 on September 30, 2025.

Oh my god, the rumors were true! This game has been rumored for years, and I wonder if it'll ever happen, but it finally did, and I'm so happy for it! One of my strategy games, and I love the fact that they have the original and the enhanced version, awesome. Love the updated graphics and gameplay refinements with the enhanced version, as well as adding voice acting to it too. Looking forward to replaying this game once it comes out in three months.

Baby Steps is an adventure game developed by Gabe Cuzzillo, Maxi Boch, and Bennett Foddy and published by Devolver Digital. It will be released on PS5 on September 8, 2025.

It's been a while since we last saw this game, which looks to be a fun comedy adventure game with some hilarious moments. I wonder how this game will turn out overall, but whether or not it'll be good, at least it'll be entertaining in some capacity. I'm looking forward to playing the game once it's released in three months.

Hirogami is an action-adventure game developed by Bandai Namco and published by Kakehashi Games. The game is set to be released on PS5 on September 3, 2025.

Wow, didn't really expect Bandai Namco to make a game like this, but it looks very cool. I really like the art style that this game has, as it looks like it's made out of origami, and the gameplay looks to be very fun as well. Hope to see more of this game down the line once it's released in three months.

EVERYBODY'S GOLF HOT SHOTS is a golf game developed by Bandai Namco and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5 on September 5, 2025.

It should be expected that this game would be coming to PlayStation since PlayStation owns the IP, but great to see a confirmation for the game regardless. The game continues to look great, and so cool to see PAC-MAN as a special bonus character to be added to the game. Looking forward to playing this game once it's released in three months.

NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound is an action-adventure game developed by The Game Kitchen and published by DotEmu. The game is set to be released on PS5 & PS4 on July 31, 2025.

The last time we saw anything from this game was back at the Game Awards last year, so great to see it again here with a confirmed release date. I continue to love what we've seen with this game in terms of the visuals and the gameplay, as this will be a nice wait until we can get Ninja Gaiden 4, which I'm also excited about. Looking forward to trying out the game once it comes out next month.

Cairn is a rock-climbing simulation adventure game developed and published by The Game Bakers, where the game is set to be released on PS5 on November 5, 2025.

We've seen this game numerous times in past presentations, but we officially got a release date, which is great to see. I find it interesting that this game will have a story behind it, too, which should make the game a lot more interesting than just rock-climbing, as it would motivate players to keep moving. Glad to see that a demo for the game is available now, too, so looking forward to it and can't wait to see how the final game will turn out in five months.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection is a collection of fighting games developed and published by Digital Eclipse, which includes Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat 4, Mortal Kombat Advance, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition. The collection will be released on PS5 and PS4 in 2025.

Holy crap! Didn't expect a Mortal Kombat collection like this, but this is great to see. Didn't even expect nine games to be in this collection either, which is also nice. Looking forward to replaying all of these games again and hope this collection does well once it's released later this year.

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER is an action-adventure stealth game developed and published by Konami, which will be released on PS5 on August 28, 2025.

I continue to be hyped about this game as it continues to look amazing. Graphics are definitely delivering on that front, and the gameplay continues to look fun as well. Plus, great to see that the Ape Escape minigame has returned, and it looks like there's new content in this remake too, which is nice and appreciated. Looking forward to playing this remake once it comes out in two months.

Nioh 3 is a dark fantasy action role-playing game developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. The game is set to be released on PS5 in early 2026.

Oh my god, we're actually getting a new Nioh game and it looks awesome! The last Nioh game was Nioh 2 back on PS4 in 2020, so it has been five years since then. So great to see the series making a comeback. The graphics look amazing, and the gameplay looks so smooth as well. The story seems quite interesting as well. Plus, we get a demo available now on this game, so I can't wait to try it out once I get the chance. Hope to see more of this game in the future when it comes out next year.

Astro Bot is a platformer developed by Team Asobi and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game will have new content coming for free later this year.

Nice to see that PlayStation continues to support this game as it's still one of the best 3D platformers currently. Love the fact that we're getting five new challenges, and we're getting new special bots to show as well. Not only that, it's also free, which is awesome. Looking forward to playing these new challenges once they come out later this year.

Sea of Remnants is an ocean adventure role-playing game developed by Joker Studio and published by NetEase Games. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

This game definitely caught my attention due to its art style, as it looks like something you would see in a Western cartoon. In addition, I love the gameplay style of it as it has an RPG mechanic to it, along with action, which should be interesting to see and play. I'm also curious about the adventure on the ocean. Hope to see more of this game in the future once it's released next year.

Sword of the Sea is an adventure game developed and published by Giant Squid, which will be released on PS5 on August 19, 2025.

It's been a while since we saw anything from this game, but we finally got a release date, and it's coming a lot sooner than expected. I enjoyed the other games that Giant Squid developed, and this one won't be any different due to its art style and grand adventure doing it in an ocean this time around. Plus, this game will be free on PlayStation Plus too if you have the subscription. Looking forward to playing this game once it's released in two months.

007 First Light is an action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive, where the game will be released on PS5 in 2026.

We've seen a teaser for this game, and now we've finally got to see a trailer for it with a bit of gameplay as well. It's been a long time since we got a 007 game, and it looks to be amazing with everything we've seen so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how the final game will turn out once it's released next year.

Ghost of Yōtei is an action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It will be released on PS5 on October 2, 2025.

Despite being excited for this game, I'm quite disappointed that they didn't show any gameplay in this trailer, as they only announced that they'll showcase more of the game in a future PlayStation State of Play dedicated to Ghost of Yōtei, which will happen next month in July. I'm looking forward to it, but I wish they had shown the gameplay of the game. Either way, looking forward to seeing more and can't wait to play the game in three months.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5 and PC in 2026.

Holy crap, we're getting a new Marvel fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by PlayStation?! What the heck?! This is awesome! Never thought I would see the day that this game would actually happen, but we did, and it's awesome! Love the designs of the Marvel characters that they did, as they look like they came from a manga rather than a Western comic, which is very cool. Plus, the gameplay looks sick as expected from Arc System Works when it comes to 2D fighting games, as this doesn't look any different. I'm so excited for this and can't wait to see more as it'll be released next year.

Overall, this was a great presentation from PlayStation. Even though it was missing that one big first-party reveal that would make it feel E3-like, the third-party games delivered, and they delivered big like it was E3 level, which I love. Also, the reveal of the Project Defiant Wireless Fight Stick was quite cool, as this device will definitely be handy when it comes to classic arcade fighting games, which will be very convenient. Nice to see PlayStation continue to support the PlayStation Classics catalog with games such as Deus Ex, Twisted Metal 3 + 4, and Resident Evil 2 + 3 coming in a few weeks to this summer. Either way, even though they're lacking in the first-party department, they're killing it in the third-party department, as I'm really excited for that. Hope PlayStation will do better in the first-party department next year.
