Gaming Influence: Predictions - Summer Game Fest 2025 ~ Xbox
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. I will be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, as well as video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.
For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my predictions for Summer Game Fest 2025, which will start on June 6 and will continue in the next few weeks. For the predictions in this article/editorial, I'll mainly focus on Xbox.
Anyway, let's get started!
For further details on what is Summer Game Fest is, check out this article/editorial here: Summer Game Fest Predictions 2024: Xbox
I'll be giving my predictions for a few video game companies on what game announcements will happen during the Summer Game Fest. I will do one for each video game company before the show starts, based on what I think will happen and what I want to happen.
I will be talking about Xbox for these predictions, so let's get to it!
Thinks
This is one of Xbox's biggest games and franchises, and we haven't seen anything on this game since the Xbox Games Showcase last year. With the game supposedly coming out this year, I expect Xbox to showcase this game as it'll probably be one of their biggest releases of the year. Once we see it again, I expect a release date for it, and I expect the trailer to blow us away as well. Either way, I have a feeling it'll show up regardless.
This is another game that Xbox is huge behind due to how successful and well-received the first game was, so I also expect Xbox to showcase this game at the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest. Plus, the last time we saw anything from this game was in the Game Awards last year, and it's supposedly coming out this year as well. What better way to give a release date and see a new trailer for it at Summer Game Fest at the Xbox Games Showcase? It makes perfect sense, and I'm sure it'll happen as well.
This is one of my most anticipated games this year because we haven't had a new original Ninja Gaiden game since Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge in 2013. The fact that Xbox is publishing the game as well makes me believe that they want to market this game a lot to make it a success, and I have a feeling it'll do just that. With the game releasing this fall, and we haven't seen anything from the game since the Xbox Developer Direct earlier this year in January, I expect to see it again at the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest with a new trailer and a release date.
Just like with Fable, this is one of Xbox's biggest games and franchises, and it has been six years since Gears 5 released on Xbox One in 2019, so it has been a long time coming. Granted, I still believe the game is still in development and will be a while before it's released, but I do expect another trailer for this game with gameplay and a possible story overview as well. Granted, I don't expect a release date for the game, but I do expect to see the game again at the Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest, and it's going to blow our minds.
The last time we saw anything of this game was back at last year's Xbox Game Showcase last year and if it's going to release this year, Summer Game Fest at the Xbox Games Showcase would be the perfect time to showcase the game again. The last State of Decay game was State of Decay 2, which was released on Xbox One in 2018, so it has been seven years since the last one. I expect another new trailer with a release date as well, since it's going to be released this year. Regardless, we're probably going to see it at the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest for sure.
The last time we saw anything from this game was at the Xbox Games Showcase last year. Granted, I have a feeling that the game is still in development, so we probably won't get an actual release date for the game. However, I do expect another trailer for the game and a possible release window for when this game is going to be released. From what we've seen so far, it has potential, but hoping to see more, and I'm sure we'll get it at the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest this year.
Wants
Alright, that's all I think will happen at Summer Game Fest for Xbox, but let's go over what I want from Xbox. Now, these games that I want might happen or have no chance at all, but hoping for it to happen, so let's get started.
Yep, this is not going to stop until it happens, dang it! How is it possible that we still don’t have a new original Banjo-Kazooie game when Banjo & Kazooie are in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Banjo-Kazooie is on Nintendo Switch Online?! Come on, Xbox, just do it! I’m begging you, please!
It’s been seven years since we got anything about this game back in E3 2018, and to this day, we’re still waiting. Granted, there’s a higher chance that this game is being developed now due to Starfield finally being done. However, I still won’t hold my breath as it’ll be a while until we see it again, but still hoping for a trailer at least. Though, don’t see it happening at all.
It's been two years since we last saw anything about this game, and it looks to be a huge deal, too, from what we've seen in terms of graphics and gameplay. I personally don't think it'll show at this year's Xbox Game Showcase because they might want to focus on other games that'll soon be released this year, but we can hope that it shows up. However, I doubt it.
Well, instead of this being put in the PlayStation predictions, going to put it in the Xbox predictions instead as Xbox, Sega, and Atlus have been working together a lot recently in terms of marketing so if we're going to get a new Persona game announcement like Persona 6, it would probably be showcased in a Xbox Games Showcase. Granted, with the rumors of a remake of Persona 4 happening, don't see Persona 6 showing up, but I can dream.
The last time we saw anything on this game was back at the Xbox Games Showcase last year, as this is one of the games that stood out to me, which looked incredible. The game has that Soulslike gameplay to it as well, with beautiful graphics. I doubt we'll see any more of this game at this year's Xbox Games Showcase, but since it'll be releasing this year, we might. Here's hoping.
We've seen this game appear and show up numerous times in past digital presentations, where the last time we saw it was at the Game Awards last year. Xbox is the company that seems to be marketing this game the most out of everyone else, which is why I put it here, as it looks to be a fun mech game. With this game supposedly coming out this year, I expect to see it again before it is actually released, but I don't see it happening here. I could be wrong, but we'll see regardless.
This was another game that was showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase last year that caught my interest due to its art style and gameplay. We haven't seen anything from this game since then, as it was supposed to come out earlier this year, but never did, which makes me wonder what happened to this game. We might see this game again at this year's Xbox Games Showcase during Summer Game Fest, but I'm doubtful. I could be wrong, but we'll soon see regardless.
As always, I want more Japanese games on Xbox Game Pass, which they have continued to do for the past two years, as I hope they keep the momentum going with them. Since then, we've gotten more Persona and Like a Dragon games on Xbox Game Pass, as I expect to see more Japanese games coming to the service soon. The more Japanese games on Xbox Game Pass, the better.
Well, those are my predictions for Xbox at the Summer Game Fest.
