Gaming Influence: Predictions - Summer Game Fest 2025 ~ PlayStation

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. I will be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, as well as video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my predictions for Summer Game Fest 2025, which will start on June 6 and will continue in the next few weeks. For the predictions in this article/editorial, I'll mainly focus on PlayStation.

Anyway, let's get started!

For further details on what is Summer Game Fest is, check out this article/editorial here: Summer Game Fest Predictions 2024: PlayStation

I'll be giving my predictions for a few video game companies on what game announcements will happen during Summer Game Fest time, and will be doing one for each video game company before the show starts, by having what I think will happen and what I want to happen.

For these predictions, I will be talking about PlayStation, so let's get to it!

Thinks

This is one of PlayStation's biggest games and franchises that will be released this year. With this game officially being released on June 26, 2025, I expect PlayStation to promote and market one last time during the Summer Game Fest. This is one of my most anticipated games this year, and I expect a big blowout for this game as it's coming out this month. Plus, with Hideo Kojima being at Summer Game Fest, he'll probably showcase the game there, so either way, we're seeing it one way or another.

This is another game that is huge for PlayStation that I expect them to heavily market and promote as it'll be releasing later this year. With the game releasing on October 2, 2025, I expect them to showcase this game with a new trailer with gameplay that'll blow people's minds before the game releases. This is another game that is my most anticipated this year, and I expect to see it more during the Summer Game Fest.

This is a new first-party IP from PlayStation that is being developed by Housemarque, who are well known for developing Returnal. With the game releasing next year and them mentioning that they'll showcase more of this game later this year, I feel like the good time to do so would be the Summer Game Fest. When we do see it again, I expect a new trailer with gameplay, and we'll see what this game is all about.

Even though this game is releasing on multiple platforms, this series is well known on PlayStation, and I feel like PlayStation will be the one that will promote and market this game the most, especially with the exclusive content that the PlayStation version will have. With this game releasing on August 25, 2025, Summer Game Fest would be the perfect place for it to show up, with PlayStation giving the marketing and promotion of the game. I expect one last hurrah with a trailer and gameplay for this game before it's released, but we'll see.

Lies of P is one of the best Soulslike games that is not from FromSoftware, and the DLC is looking to continue that, which will be interesting to see. With the DLC supposedly releasing this summer, the summer is about to start soon, and announcing it during Summer Game Fest would be the perfect time to do so, as I believe PlayStation will be doing the promotion and marketing for the DLC. When we do see it again, I expect another trailer with gameplay and an official release date.

This was another game that PlayStation was hyping and promoting in the last PlayStation State of Play that happened in February earlier this year. The game seems to have an interesting story, but I would love to see more gameplay of this game, and I have a feeling that Summer Game Fest will be the place to showcase it. Not only that, with this game supposedly coming out this year, Summer Game Fest would be the perfect time to show more gameplay of the game as well as gameplay. Only time will tell, but I can definitely see it happening.

With this game releasing in three months and the fact that we're supposed to get more news on the game, I expect to see more of this game at the Summer Game Fest before its release. When we do see this game again, I expect another trailer with more gameplay and a reminder of the release date for those who forgot, as it'll be released on September 12, 2025. Regardless, we'll definitely see more of this game at Summer Game Fest for sure.

This was another game that was showcased back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, back in February, as it was also planned to be released later this year, so I feel it's time that we see more of this game. I expect another trailer with gameplay as well as the release date for the game. I have a feeling that we have a good chance of seeing this game around Summer Game Fest time, as I'm really interested to see how this game will turn out.

This was another game that PlayStation has been showcasing in numerous PlayStation State of Plays for the past year. With this game coming out on September 1, 2025, I expect another trailer with gameplay and a reminder of when the release date is for those who forgot. This game has the potential to be something, and I have a feeling we'll see more of it around Summer Game Fest time.

Despite this game not releasing until next year, I do expect to see this game once again around the Summer Game Fest, as this is one of the most anticipated games of next year. When we do see it again, I expect another trailer with gameplay as well as a story synopsis with a better release window than just next year. I doubt we'll get the actual release date of the game itself, but I have a feeling we'll see it again during Summer Game Fest time, regardless.

Yes, I know. It's a pipe dream. However, the fact that we managed to get new screenshots for the game, which has definitely improved from the first trailer we saw of this game three years ago, makes me believe that we're getting another trailer for this game sooner rather than later and Summer Game Fest is the perfect place to showcase it. Even though we won't get a release date for the game, I expect a new trailer with gameplay, and that's enough for me. My heart is telling me that it's going to happen, and I hope it does, so please, show up during Summer Game Fest time! Thank you.

Wants

Alright, that's all I think will happen at Summer Game Fest for PlayStation, but let's go over what I want from PlayStation. Now, these games that I want might happen or have no chance at all, but hoping for it to happen, so let's get started.

This game is one of PlayStation's new IPs, developed by Naughty Dog, who are well known for the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, and The Last of Us. Even though I doubt we'll see it here during Summer Game Fest, I hope we do, as this game has potential and it's something different from Naughty Dog as well for a long time. Regardless, don't see it happening, but would love to see it.

The last time we saw anything from this game was back at Summer Game Fest last year, as it looks incredible. The game reminds me of Ghost of Tsushima a lot, with its own twist, as I love the art style, and the gameplay seems so smooth too. Really want to see more of this game, but hope to see more of this game at PlayStation of Play, which I doubt it'll be showing up.

When I first saw this game back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year in February, it blew me away with its graphics and gameplay, which caught my attention a lot. The story of this game seems very interesting, too, but I doubt we're going to see more of this game anytime soon. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not counting on it.

The last time we saw anything from this game was back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year in February, and with this game releasing in two months, I expect one final push for this game before its release. However, with this franchise being quite niche compared to other Sega franchises, I doubt that it would get any type of spotlight, but hopefully, I'm wrong. Regardless, hope to see it during Summer Game Fest time, but won;t be surprised if we don't.

We've been seeing this game for quite a while in past digital presentations, so far, and with this game still planning to be released this year, we should expect to see it again during the Summer Game Fest to remind people that this game will come out later this year. However, it's hard to say whether or not it will happen, but who knows? I personally don't see it happening, but I won't complain if it does show up.

The last time we saw this game was back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, in February. With this game coming out this year, I would expect it to get promotion and marketing to remind people that it will be releasing this year, but I don't know if it'll be shown at Summer Game Fest or not. If it doesn't, won't be surprised, but if it does, awesome.

This game was a surprise to me when they first showcased it back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year in February, as I didn't believe that Konami would publish a game like this, but it's awesome. However, I doubt that we'll see it at Summer Game Fest, as it seems to be a game that probably won't get much attention as it needs to. However, if it does show up at Summer Game Fest, I won't complain at all.

Just like with the other games I mentioned on the Wants list, we haven't seen anything from this game since the PlayStation State of Play back in February of this year. What we saw of the graphics looked beautiful, and the gameplay looks to be a lot of fun as well. I doubt we'll see more of this game at Summer Game Fest, but I would love to be proven wrong. We'll see.

Despite the series having a slight chance of coming back due to Sucker Punch focusing on other games and projects, I would still love a new Sly Cooper game. Will it happen? Probably not for the time being, but I still hope that it makes a comeback one day.
