Gaming Influence: Thoughts - PlayStation State of Play | September 24, 2025
Hello everyone,
For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll share my thoughts on the PlayStation State of Play on September 24, 2025.
Before I start, not every game shown in this presentation will be discussed, as I will mainly talk about games that I care about and are interested in. If the games you care about and are interested in don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're just not for me, or it's just that I don't have much to say about them except cool. However, if you're happy with the games that you care about and are interested in, I have nothing to say about it; good for you, and I'm happy for you.
Anyway, let's get started!
SAROS is an action game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5 on March 20, 2026.
The last time we saw anything about this game was back at the PlayStation State of Play back in February of this year, but we finally got a release date for it, and it's looking amazing. This game is pretty much Returnal, but it doesn't seem like it'll be roguelike, as it looks to be just a normal game, which I'm totally fine with. The abilities within this game are quite cool, with the shield and reviving after dying once to become stronger. Very curious to see how this game will turn out, and hope to see more of it once it's released in six months.
ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies is a story-rich espionage role-playing game developed and published by ZA/UM. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.
We've seen this game in the past, but we finally got to see gameplay for the game, as it's looking great. I really enjoyed Disco Elysium, and it looks like this game will continue that in its own way. The story definitely seems very interesting, and I hope to see more of this game in the future once it's released next year.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a flight simulator developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game is set to be released on PS5 on December 8, 2025.
Xbox games continue to be on other platforms, and having Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PS5 is a great choice. If you just want a relaxing experience of flying around the world inside a plane, this is the game to do so. The fact that this game is also coming to PSVR2 is a welcome addition. I'd like to see how this game does on PS5 once it's released on the console in three months.
Deus Ex Remastered is a remaster of the action role-playing game developed and published by Aspyr, Deus Ex. The game is set to be released on PS5 on February 5, 2026.
Oh wow, didn't expect Deus Ex to get a remaster, but this is a nice surprise. Granted, I feel like this remaster could've been done a lot better, but I'm glad to see that this game is coming to modern consoles, as this game was released back in 2000 for PS2. I'm very curious to see how this remaster has been done, and we'll see how it does once it's released in five months.
Last Epoch: Orobyss is an expansion for the time-travel themed, loot-based hack-and-slash action role-playing game developed and published by Eleventh Hour Games, where the expansion is set to be released on PS5 in the future.
Great to see that this game will be coming to PS5, and the fact that the expansion for the game is also coming out on the same day as the PS5 release date is great. It looks like the PS5 version is running well, and I'm interested to see what else the developers have in store for this game. Hope to see more in the future.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is an open-world anime role-playing game developed and published by Netmarble, where the game is set to be released on PS5 on January 28, 2026.
We've seen this game numerous times in past presentations, but we finally got a release date for the game, and it's coming out a lot sooner than expected. The game is looking pretty good so far, and I'm surprised that they're making this game an open world, which is quite interesting. Also, there will be multiplayer up to four players, which should make the game a lot of fun with others. Looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out once it's released in four months.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a kart racing game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. The game is set to be released on PS5 and PS4 on September 25, 2025, with the Mega Man DLC Pack coming out next year.
Holy crap, we got Mega Man content in Sonc Racing: Crossworlds! Heck yeah! We got Mega Man and Proto Man as playable riders, as well as Dr. Wily's Castle as a track?! Yes! It looks amazing, and I kind of wish that Capcom would just make a new Mega Man game already. Capcom, we're waiting! In all seriousness, I'm glad to see more content coming to Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, and I'm looking forward to playing it as it'll be available now by the time you're reading this.
Nioh 3 is an action role-playing game developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. The game is set to be released on PS5 on February 6, 2026.
We saw this game previously in the last PlayStation State of Play back in June of this year, but now, we have a confirmed release date, and it's coming out a lot sooner than expected. We got more gameplay for the game as it continues to look smooth in terms of its combat. Not only that, we got a bit of a story trailer here too, as the story is definitely interesting from what they've shown here. I'm curious to see how the game will turn out overall once it's released in five months.
DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered is a remaster of the hack-and-slash game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, DYNASTY WARRIORS 3. The game is set to be released on PS5 on March 19, 2026.
Wait what?! Koei Tecmo is remastering DYNASTY WARRIORS 3, which released on PS2 and Xbox back in 2001?! Dang! Didn't see that coming. I like how they updated the graphics, but still have those PS2 animations, which have a certain charm to them, so I'm glad they kept that. This is one of my favorite DYNASTY WARRIORS games, and I'm glad to see it being remastered on modern consoles. Looking forward to replaying it once it's released in six months.
Code Vein II is an action role-playing game developed and published by Bandai Namco, which is set to be released on PS5 on January 30, 2026.
We saw this game back at Summer Game Fest back in June of this year, but now, we have a release date for the game as it's coming out a lot sooner than expected. Really love the designs of the characters as well as the combat of the game, which looks sick. The story seems very interesting as well, and if it's anything like the first game, we're in for a treat. Looking forward to seeing more of this game once it's released in four months.
Overall, this was a good presentation from PlayStation. Even though there weren't any big new game announcements here, we got a great combination of trailers and surprises in this presentation, especially on the first-party side. They also had other announcements, including the Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers (they look pretty cool and will definitely enhance audio), new games being added to the PlayStation Plus catalog, including Alan Wake II, Cocoon, Goat Simulator 3, and The Last of Us Part II (pretty good updates here), new games being added to the PlayStation Classic catalog including Tekken 3, Soulcalibur III, and the Tomb Raider Anniversary Collection (nice additions here), and the God of War 20th Anniversary DualSense controller (looks cool, but wish they did more with the anniversary of God of War, but better than nothing). I personally feel that the PlayStation State of Play from June earlier this year was a lot better compared to this one, but it still has some great announcements, surprises, and trailers, so I can't complain too much. We'll see how PlayStation will do heading into next year.
