Gaming Influence: Predictions - Summer Game Fest 2026 ~ Xbox

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. I will be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, as well as video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my predictions for Summer Game Fest 2026, which will start on June 5 and will continue in the next few weeks. For the predictions in this article/editorial, I'll mainly focus on Xbox.

Anyway, let's get started!

For further details on what the Summer Game Fest is, check out this article/editorial here: Summer Game Fest Predictions 2024: Xbox

I'll be giving my predictions for a few video game companies on what game announcements will happen during the Summer Game Fest. I will do one for each video game company before the show starts, based on what I think will happen and what I want to happen.

I will be talking about Xbox for these predictions, so let's get to it!

Thinks

Xbox already confirmed that this game will be at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7 and that the game will have its own dedicated presentation as well after the Xbox Games Showcase. The fact that we're getting a presentation for this game makes me believe that this game will be coming soon rather than later. Regardless, either way, this is a guarantee that it'll show up since Xbox confirmed itself. I'm curious to see how the game will look and play overall.

This is one of Xbox's biggest games and franchises, and we haven't seen anything on this game since the Xbox Developer Direct earlier this year, back in January. With the game supposedly coming out this fall, I expect Xbox to showcase this game more, as it'll probably be one of their biggest releases of the year for Xbox. We'll see another trailer with more gameplay and a bit more story with an actual release date. I think this game will be showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase rather than Summer Game Fest, but either way, I'm sure we'll see more of this game during Summer Game Fest week, regardless.

This is a game that Xbox has been promoting a lot since they showcased it back at last year's Xbox Games Showcase, and with it being released this summer, we're probably going to see this game again at either the Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Game Fest. It's still wild to me that this game is being developed by Game Freak, but I always love that Game Freak branches out doing other games, and this one has a lot of potential. Whether it happens at the Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Game Fest, we're going to see more of this game, along with a release date during Summer Game Fest week.

The last time we saw anything of this game was back at the Xbox Games Showcase last year, and with Xbox promoting and marketing a lot of Sega and Atlus games for the past couple of years, I can see this game show up at either the Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Game Fest. There have been rumors that this game will be released early next year, so if they want to show more of the game in terms of gameplay and the release date, doing it at the Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Game Fest is the way to do it.

For the past two years, during the Xbox Games Showcase, Xbox has showcased this game, and every time we see it, it has tons of potential. This year at the Xbox Games Showcase, I expect that this game will be showcased, but this time, with an actual release date, with more gameplay, and a bit of story within its next trailer. I assume that this game will be done soon since it's been in development for such a long time, and if we don't get a release date for the game, I'll be shocked. Regardless, we'll see this game again at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.

The last time we saw anything about this game was at last year's Xbox Games Showcase, as it was one of the biggest surprises on the presentation itself. With this game supposedly being released this year, I expect another trailer for this game, along with more gameplay, and an actual release date. Whether this game shows up at the Xbox Games Showcase or Summer Game Fest, we'll definitely see more of this game during Summer Game Fest week.

The last time we saw anything of this game was back at the Xbox Game Showcase two years ago, so I think we're definitely going to see this game again at the Xbox Games Showcase this year. The last State of Decay game was State of Decay 2, which was released on Xbox One in 2018, so it has been eight years since the last one. I expect another new trailer with more gameplay and a possible release date, depending on how development is going for this game. Either way, I see this game coming at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.

It's been five years since the last Halo game, which was Halo Infinite, and that game was released on Xbox Series X. I believe that the next Halo game is ready to be showcased, and we'll probably see it at the Xbox Games Showcase. We'll get a trailer for the game with a bit of gameplay, as well as a release window for the game. With this series being one of the biggest franchises that Xbox has, I'm sure that they're currently developing the next Halo game, and we might be able to see it at the Xbox Games Showcase.

Wants

Alright, that's all I think will happen at Summer Game Fest for Xbox, but let's go over what I want from Xbox. Now, these games that I want might happen or have no chance at all, but hoping for it to happen, so let's get started.

Yep, this is not going to stop until it happens, dang it! How is it possible that we still don’t have a new original Banjo-Kazooie game when Banjo & Kazooie are in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Banjo-Kazooie is on Nintendo Switch Online?! Come on, Xbox, just do it! I’m begging you, please!

It’s been eight years since we got anything about this game back in E3 2018, and to this day, we’re still waiting. Granted, there’s a higher chance that this game is being developed now, but I still won’t hold my breath as it’ll be a while until we see it again, but still hoping for a trailer at least. Though I don’t see it happening at all.

Well, instead of this being put in the PlayStation predictions, going to put it in the Xbox predictions instead, as Xbox, Sega, and Atlus have been working together a lot recently in terms of marketing, so if we're going to get a new Persona game announcement like Persona 6, it would probably be showcased in an Xbox Games Showcase. Granted, they'll probably focus on Persona 4 Revival, don't see Persona 6 showing up, but I can dream.

The last time we saw anything of this game in a presentation sense was the Xbox Games Showcase last year and with the game having a release date of September 3, 2026, it would be a good time to showcase this game again at this year's Xbox Games Showcase. However, I have a feeling that Xbox won't promote this game at this year's Xbox Games Showcase personally. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

This was another game that was showcased back in the Xbox Games Showcase last year that definitely had my interest due to its art style and interesting narrative. With this game releasing this year, I expect this game to be showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase this year to promote and market the game, but I personally don't see it happening. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it.

Along with the other games that I mentioned in the Wants list, this was another game that was showcased at the Xbox Games Showcase last year and it looks to be interesting with its story and gameplay. However, the fact that we haven't gotten a release time window for the game makes me believe that we won't see this game again for a while. I would love to be proven wrong, but I don't see it happening personally.

This is another game that was showcased back at last year's Xbox Games Showcase, and it stood out due to its unique art style. With the game supposedly being released this year, I would expect it to be showcased at this year's Xbox Games Showcase, but I personally don't see happening. I would love to be proven wrong, but we'll see.

As always, I want more Japanese games on Xbox Game Pass, which they have continued to do for the past three years, as I hope they keep the momentum going with them. Since then, we've gotten more Persona and Like a Dragon games on Xbox Game Pass, as I expect to see more Japanese games coming to the service soon. The more Japanese games on Xbox Game Pass, the better.

Well, those are my predictions for Xbox at the Summer Game Fest.

What do you think Xbox will show during the Summer Game Fest?
