Gaming Influence: Predictions - Summer Game Fest 2026 ~ PlayStation

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. I will be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, as well as video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my predictions for Summer Game Fest 2026, which will start on June 5 and will continue in the next few weeks. For the predictions in this article/editorial, I'll mainly focus on PlayStation.

Anyway, let's get started!

For further details on what the Summer Game Fest is, check out this article/editorial here: Summer Game Fest Predictions 2024: PlayStation

I'll be giving my predictions for a few video game companies on what game announcements will happen during Summer Game Fest time, and I will be doing one for each video game company before the show starts, by having what I think will happen and what I want to happen.

For these predictions, I will be talking about PlayStation, so let's get to it!

Thinks

This is one of PlayStation's biggest games that will be released this year. PlayStation has confirmed that this game will be showcased during the PlayStation State of Play on June 2, and with the game officially releasing on September 15, 2026, I expect PlayStation to promote and market it big. This is one of my most anticipated games this year, and I expect a deep dive with extended gameplay, but we'll have to wait and see. Either way, I'm excited to see more of this game, and I think it'll be one of the biggest highlights of the presentation itself.

This is another huge PlayStation game I expect them to heavily market and promote, as it'll be released in three months. With the game releasing on August 6, 2026, I expect them to showcase this game with a new trailer showcasing new fighters, as well as showcase the story mode in the game. This is another game I'm most anticipating this year, and I expect to see more of it during Summer Game Fest week.

The last time we saw anything from this game was back at the Game Awards last year, as it will be released on September 9, 2026. I expect one more trailer of this game with a combination of story and gameplay, which will blow players' minds once again. The game reminds me of the Ghost series a lot, with its own twist, as I love the art style, and the gameplay seems so smooth, too. Whether it shows up at the PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest, we'll see during Summer Game Fest week for sure.

This game is one of PlayStation's new IPs, developed by Naughty Dog, who are well known for the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy, Jak & Daxter, Uncharted, and The Last of Us. With the PlayStation State of Play during Summer Game Fest week being an hour-plus long, a game like this will be perfect to appear on the presentation itself. Plus, we haven't seen anything from this game since Game Awards 2024, so I think it's about time we see more of this game, and we'll see how Naughty Dog will pull off a game like this.

With this game being published by PlayStation and receiving extensive marketing from the company, I expect it to be showcased at PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. Even though this game seems like your typical shooter, the roguelike element makes it a bit more interesting. We kind of still need to know more about the game as well as the release date, so I expect more of this game either in the PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest.

The last time we saw anything of this game was back at the PlayStation State of Play that happened in February earlier this year, and I expect to see more of this game again at either the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. Remedy Entertainment has been on a roll recently with their games, and with Control Resonant looking to expand in terms of gameplay compared to Control, we're in for a treat. Whether it happens at the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest, we're going to see more of this game sooner rather than later if it's going to be released this year.

Just like with Control Resonant, the last time we saw anything of this game was back at the PlayStation State of Play in February earlier this year, and I expect to see more of this game, whether it be on the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. From what we've seen of this game, it looks incredible, and with this game being released this year, I expect another trailer of this game with more gameplay and maybe showcase the single-player and online mode, which I expect this game will have. Either way, we'll see more of this game regardless of whether it happens on the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest.

This game was announced back at the Game Awards 2024, where it is planned to be released this year. Due to this, I expect we will finally get to see more of this game, whether it be on the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. Every time we see a trailer for this game, I continue to be amazed, as it's still surreal to see a new original Onimusha game after more than a decade. It's only a matter of time, as we'll probably get an official release for this game if it's coming out later this year, and I see it happening during Summer Game Fest week.

Just like with the other games I mentioned earlier, this is another game that we last saw at the PlayStation State of Play back in February earlier this year, and I expect to see more of this game again, probably at the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. Incredibly, we're getting a sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits as Kena: Scars of Kosmora looks amazing, and it looks to improve from the first game as well. It's only a matter of time before we see more of this game, as I expect we'll see it again at either the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest.

This was another game that was showcased in the PlayStation State of Play back in February earlier this year, and the fact that this game is coming out this year, I expect we will see more of this game, whether it happens on the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. I still can't believe that we're getting a new original Castlevania game after more than a decade. It's insane, but I love everything about it. I definitely want to see more gameplay of this game and maybe a story trailer as well. We're going to see more of this game during Summer Game Fest, and I can't wait to see more of it.

This was also another game that was showcased back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, back in February, as it was also planned to be released later this year, so I feel it's time that we see more of this game. I expect another trailer with gameplay as well as the release date for the game. It's crazy to see that Silent Hill is being revived as of late with more games, and I'm curious to see how Silent Hill: Townfall will turn out. We'll probably see it again at either the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest, and when we do, it should be interesting to see.

PlayStation and Final Fantasy have a long history with each other, and with Square Enix planning to release more information on the final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy, I believe that the game will be showcased at either the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. Even though I don't think this game will be released this year, I expect a teaser for the game, and it'll be released sometime next year. It's a stretch, but I can definitely see this game being showcased during Summer Game Fest week.

Yes, I know. It's a pipe dream. However, it's been four years since we last saw anything about this game, and I think it's about time that this game will finally be showcased, whether it's on the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest. Even though I don't expect a release date for the game, I expect a new trailer with gameplay, and that's all I need since it's been four years already. I'm pretty much coping at this point, but my heart is telling me that it's finally going to happen, and I hope it does, so please, show up during Summer Game Fest time! Thank you.

It has been four years since the last mainline Horizon game, which was Horizon Forbidden West, released on PS5, and with Guerrilla Games probably working on another Horizon game, I expect we'll see that at the next PlayStation State of Play. I think that we'll get a trailer for the next mainline Horizon game with gameplay and a release window. I think we'll see the next mainline Horizon game soon, and we'll probably see it at the next PlayStation State of Play.

Wants

Alright, that's all I think will happen at Summer Game Fest for PlayStation, but let's go over what I want from PlayStation. Now, these games that I want might happen or have no chance at all, but hoping for it to happen, so let's get started.

It's still crazy to me that we're going to get remakes of the God of War Trilogy, which is insane. However, since they announced that this trilogy has just started development, it'll be a while until we see anything of it. Regardless, I can still hope, but we probably won't see it again until a few years later, for sure at this point.

As much as I want to see PlayStation promote this collection one more time before its release, I don't think it will. The collection will be released on August 27, 2026. I expect PlayStation will promote and market this collection one last time before its release, but I don't expect it. Either way, I'm excited for the collection, but I doubt we'll see it again at Summer Game Fest week to remind people that this collection is coming out soon.

This is one of the games that was showcased back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year in February, as it's planned to be released this fall. I have a feeling that this game won't be seen again until near its release date in a future PlayStation State of Play, but not the one during Summer Game Fest week. I would love to be wrong, but I don't see it happening.

The last time we saw anything about this game was back at the PlayStation State of Play last year in September, as it's cool to see that there'll be another Bloodstained game coming out later this year. Despite the game being released later this year, I personally don't see it being showcased at the next PlayStation State of Play, but I would love to be proven wrong. I just don't see it happening personally.

This was another game that was showcased back at the PlayStation State of Play last September, and it was one of those games that stood out the most during that presentation. Even though this game is planned to be released this year, I don't see it being showcased at the next PlayStation State of Play, but I would love to be proven wrong. I just don't see it happening personally.

This was another game that was showcased back at the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year in February, as it looks to be a fun stealth action game. However, with this game not being released until next year, I doubt we're going to see it at the next PlayStation of Play. I would love to be proven wrong, but don't see it happening personally.

When I first saw this game back at the PlayStation State of Play last year, it blew me away with its graphics and gameplay, which caught my attention a lot. The story of this game seems very interesting, too, but I doubt we're going to see more of this game anytime soon since the game doesn't even have a specific release window currently. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not counting on it.

Just like with the other games I mentioned on the Wants list, we haven't seen anything from this game since the PlayStation State of Play last year. What we saw of the graphics looked beautiful, and the gameplay looks to be a lot of fun as well. I doubt we'll see more of this game at the next PlayStation State of Play or Summer Game Fest, as it also doesn't have a specific release window, but I would love to be proven wrong. We'll see.

This was another game in the Wanted list that appeared on the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, back in February, and it looks quite interesting in terms of graphics and gameplay. However, the fact that we don't even get a release window for the game, it tells me that we won't see this game again for a while. I would love to be wrong, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, especially not at the next PlayStation State of Play.

This was another game that was showcased in the PlayStation State of Play earlier this year, back in February, and this game has a lot of potential. As much as I want to see this game at the next PlayStation State of Play on June 2, the fact that this game is still in development makes me believe that we won't see this game for a while, so I doubt we'll see the game at Summer Game Fest week. I would love to be wrong, but I don't see it happening personally.

Despite the series having a slight chance of coming back due to Sucker Punch focusing on other games and projects, I would still love a new Sly Cooper game. Will it happen? Probably not for the time being, but I still hope that it makes a comeback one day.

Well, those are my predictions for PlayStation at the Summer Game Fest.
