Gaming Influence: Thoughts - Pokémon Presents | 2.27.2026

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. However, I will not only share my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, but also on video game movies, anime, digital presentations, and more.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll share my thoughts on the Pokémon Presents on February 27, 2026.

Anyway, let's get started!

In this Pokémon Presents, they'll go over everything Pokémon, whether it's the games, anime, TV shows, movies, merchandise, etc.

Anyway, let's get to it!

Pokémon FireRed/LeafGreen is a remake of the role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Pokémon Company and Nintendo, Pokémon Red/Blue, which was released on Game Boy back in 1996. They are now available on Switch 2 and Switch.

I was very surprised that they didn't announce this first at the Pokémon Presents, as they announced that these games would be coming to Switch 2 and Switch last week, which I find odd, as this would've been a huge surprise and a big deal. Regardless, this is still a huge deal as it's great to see these games being ported to modern consoles. The fact that the Pokémon in these games can be transferred to Pokémon Home, which can be transferred to either Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, or Pokémon Champions, is also great. If you guys never had the chance to play the first generation of Pokémon, this is your chance to do so, and you won't regret it.

Pokémon Champions is a strategy game developed by Pokémon Works and published by Nintendo and Pokémon Company. The game is set to be released on Switch in April 2026 and on Android and iOS later this year.

We've been waiting for a release date for this game for quite a while now, and we finally got it, as it's coming out a lot sooner than expected. I also find it interesting that they got both the Switch version coming out a lot earlier than the mobile versions of the game. Either way, this was a long time coming, and we'll see how the game turns out once it's released on Switch in two months.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension is DLC for the action role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and Pokémon Company, Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Mega Garchomp Z in Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension is now available on Switch 2 and Switch.

Oh wow, didn't expect them to add more content to Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension, but this is a nice welcome addition regardless. Seeing Garchomp having another Mega Evolution form in terms of the Z form is awesome. Very curious to see how Mega Garchomp Z will turn out as a Pokémon overall, as it's available now for players to try.

Pokémon Pokopia is a life simulation game developed by Game Freak and Koei Tecmo and published by Nintendo and Pokémon Company. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 on March 5, 2026.

I had a feeling that they would show this game here, as it'll be coming out next week, and I'm still surprised that a game like this exists. The fact that they added a radio and cooking to this game is quite awesome, as well as adding multiplayer, where other players can join in on the fun. Plus, players can turn into objects too, which is quite cool. Looking forward to seeing how the game will turn out overall once it's released next week.

Pokémon Winds/Waves is a role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and Pokémon Company. The game is set to be released on Switch 2 in 2027.

Well, it's only a matter of time before we get to see the next generation mainline Pokémon game, and we finally got to see it, and it actually looks pretty good. Love the region that they picked here, as it looks to be Southeast Asia, which is a pretty good choice, as there are a lot of oceans for players to explore. They also got new renders for the Pokémon as well, especially with Pikachu, which is a nice touch. The starter Pokémon they have for this generation is looking pretty good, as we got Browt (Grass type bird), Pomerbon (Fire type dog), and Gecqua (Water type gecko). I also wonder if this game will allow players to explore underwater, and if so, that's going to be awesome. I'm also very surprised that this game won't be released until next year, as I thought it would be released this year, but I'm glad that they're holding it off, as it looks like they learned their lesson from Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, which is a good thing. A very good first impression here, and I can't wait to see more when it's released next year.

Overall, this was a good presentation from Pokémon Company. The Pokémon Company is definitely bringing a lot to the 30th Anniversary of the series, which they should, as it's a big deal. Love the addition of the Game Music Collection, featuring actual Pokémon Red/Blue game cartridges with music playing on a Game Boy, which is awesome. The Pokémon World Championships taking place in San Francisco this year are quite cool, and the fact that they're being held in a big venue is awesome. The Pokémon Trading Card Game, making a return with new cards this year, is awesome to see as well. We also got the usual updates to Pokémon GO, Pokémon Masters EX, Pokémon Café Remix, Pokémon Sleep, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, which are cool. Also, was very surprised that Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness is coming to NSO first rather than Pokémon Colosseum, which is odd, but cool to see as it'll be arriving on NSO next month. Glad to see that Pokémon Company is going all out with the 30th Anniversary of Pokémon, and we'll see if they have anything else in store.
