Gaming Influence: Thoughts - PlayStation State of Play | February 12, 2026

Hello everyone,

Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. However, I will not only be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series but also on video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.

For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll share my thoughts on the PlayStation State of Play on February 12, 2026.

Before I start, not every game shown in this presentation will be discussed, as I will mainly talk about games that I care about and are interested in. If the games you care about and are interested in don't show up here, don't take it personally, have nothing against the games, but they're just not for me, or it's just that I don't have much to say about them except cool. However, if you're happy with the games that you care about and are interested in, I have nothing to say about it; good for you, and I'm happy for you.
Anyway, let's get started!

This PlayStation State of Play will cover PS5 games that are coming in the future from first-party and third-party studios and developers, so let's get to it!

Kena: Scars of Kosmora is an action-adventure game developed and published by Ember Lab, which is set to be released on PS5 and PC in 2026.

Okay, this was a nice surprise as I didn't expect a sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits, but here we are, and it looks fantastic. The graphics continue to look amazing, the story looks interesting, and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun. If it's anything like the first game, but more expanded, I'm here for it. Hope to see more of this game in the future once it's released later this year.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends is DLC for the action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ghost of Yōtei. The DLC will be released on PS5 on March 10, 2026.

We knew that this DLC was coming for Ghost of Yōtei, but to finally see it in action is awesome to see. The fact that this is an online co-op multiplayer mode where players can go up against the Yōtei Six by choosing four different classes is awesome. Not only that, but it's also free DLC, as well which is also great. Very curious to see how this DLC will turn out once it's released next month.

4:LOOP is a rogue-like co-op shooter developed by Bad Robot Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game will be released on PS5 and PC in the future.

We've seen this game back at the Game Awards last year, so nice to see more of this game here, as it looks to be one of the more interesting co-op shooters with its rogue-like gameplay, which would make things more interesting. The amount of customization of this game is quite good, and the fact that the developers are looking for feedback to make this game the best it can be is also something great to see. Very curious to see how this game will turn out and hope to see more of it soon, as this game has potential.

PRAGMATA is an action-adventure game developed and published by Capcom, which is set to be released on PS5 on April 24, 2026.

Wasn't surprised that we saw this game in this presentation, as the game is coming out pretty soon, and it continues to look incredible. Everything about it, in terms of its graphics, gameplay, story, and music, really makes this game quite special and great in my opinion. Plus, if you want to give the game a try yourself, a demo is available now on PS5, so if you have any interest in this game, I would recommend checking it out, and I can't wait to play it in two months.

Resident Evil Requiem is a survival horror game developed and published by Capcom, which will be released on PS5 on February 27, 2026.

This is another game that I wasn't surprised that we would see in this presentation, as the game is coming out in a few weeks, and it continues to look incredible. We did actually see some new gameplay in this trailer, as well as the return of the Police Station in Resident Evil 2, which is awesome to see. Looking forward to playing this game as it comes out in a few weeks.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is a remaster of the action-adventure game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive that was released on PS2, Xbox, and PC in 2003, Legacy of Kain: Defiance. The game will be released on PS5 and PS4 on March 3, 2026.

We haven't seen anything about this game since last year, so great to see another update about it as it's coming a lot sooner than expected. Love the QoL improvements that they added to this remaster, as long as the extra bonuses for the digital deluxe edition include additional costumes and a game that was never released, which is awesome. We'll see how this remaster will turn out once it's released next month.

Brigandine Abyss is a tactical role-playing game developed by Adglobe and published by NIS America Inc. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

Oh wow, didn't expect another Brigandine game, but this was a nice surprise, and it's looking great. This looks to be the biggest Brigandine game yet, with the amount of customization as well as stories and paths to take in this game, which isn't a bad thing at all. If you're into strategy games, this is a game to keep an eye on. Hope to see more of this game in the future once it's released later this year.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round is a fighting game developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. The game is set to be released on PS5 on June 25, 2026.

Oh my god, DEAD OR ALIVE is alive! Holy crap! Never thought I would see Dead OR ALIVE back after how DEAD OR ALIVE did when it first released. However, glad to see this game getting another chance with updated visuals, bringing all the DLC, and more updates to this game in the future, which is great. The fact that this game will have a free-to-play version too is quite interesting. Really hope this game does well so the series can return again, but looking forward to it once it's released in four months.

A new DEAD OR ALIVE game is developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo. The game will be released on PS5 in the future.

Holy crap! DEAD OR ALIVE is back! Man, DEAD OR ALIVE 7, which I assume this game is, looks amazing. Granted, this was only a teaser, but the fact that we're getting a new DEAD OR ALIVE game in the future is awesome. Everything about this game is looking awesome, and I hope to see more of it in the future.

Control Resonant is an action role-playing game developed and published by Remedy Entertainment, which is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

We saw this game back at the Game Awards last year, which was a huge shock, so it's nice to see it again here, and it continues to look great. Compared to Control, this game seems to have a lot more in-depth combat in terms of the weapon changing shape and the abilities that the protagonist uses in combat. I'm liking what I'm seeing with this game so far, and we'll see how the final game will turn out once it's released later this year.

Crimson Moon is a gothic action-adventure role-playing game developed and published by Spear Soft, which will be released on PS5 in the future.

This game definitely caught my attention in terms of its art style, as it has that Gothic medieval style, which I can dig. The gameplay looks like a lot of fun, too, with the customization and everything as well. I also enjoyed the music in this game. Hope to see more of this game in the future.

Beast of Reincarnation is an action role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Fictions. The game is set to be released on PS5 on August 4, 2026.

Nice to see more of this game again after what we just saw back at the Xbox Developer Direct last month, as we finally got a release date. I'm still impressed and surprised that Game Freak was able to make a game like this, as it looks absolutely beautiful. This game has a lot of potential, and I hope it does well once it's released in six months.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is a platformer developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Ubisoft. The game is set to be released on PS5 digitally on February 13, 2026, and physically on June 26, 2026.

Okay, this wasn't a game that I expected, but I definitely welcomed it as it's a re-release of the original Rayman game from 1995. The fact that we got five different versions of Rayman in this, including the PSX version, is awesome. Plus, this edition also includes a prototype that never got released, an art gallery, and a behind the scenes of the development of the game, too. This was very cool to see, and looking forward to replaying this as it'll be out now by the time you read this digitally.

Mina the Hollower is an action-adventure game developed and published by Yacht Club Games, which will be released on PS5 in Spring 2026.

This game was originally supposed to be released last year, but it got delayed. The game is getting closer to release, which is great. A shame that we don't have an exact release date yet, but glad to see this game is coming sooner rather than later. Plus, we got a demo that is out now by the time you read this, so looking forward to trying out and playing the full game once it's released.

Neva: Prologue is a puzzle-platformer developed by Nomada Studio and published by Devolver Digital. The game is set to be released on PS5 on February 19, 2026.

Okay, I didn't expect a prequel to Neva here, but this was a nice surprise, and the fact that it's coming out soon is also a surprise. From what I've played with Neva, it's a really great game with a great narrative, so seeing how everything led up to the events of the first game is going to be fun to experience. Looking forward to the game myself once it's released next week.

Yakoh Shinobi Ops is a hardcore stealth action game developed by ACQUIRE Corp. and published by SHUEISHA GAMES. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2027.

This game actually looks quite cool, and you're playing as a ninja going through the area killing enemies while trying to be stealthy. This game has the potential to be a lot of fun, and I also like the art style as well. Hope to see more of this game in the future once it's released next year.

Project Windless is an open-world action role-playing game developed and published by Krafton, which will be released on PS5 in the future.

Alright, at first, I was confused about what was going on, but after seeing it as the trailer went on, I'm liking what I'm seeing. The fact that you play as a chicken is awesome, where it's like a mix of a Musou/Warriors game with your traditional RPG mechanics, which I can get behind. This game definitely has my attention, and I hope to see more of it soon once it's released in the future.

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer is a racing game developed by Fuse Games and published by Secret Mode. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

We saw the reveal of this game back in the Game Awards last year, but we finally got to see gameplay for it, and it looks great. The graphics look beautiful, and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun, as it seems to be very fast in terms of speed. The game has the potential to be great, and I hope to see more of it soon once it's released later this year.

007 First Light is an action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive, which will be released on PS5 on May 27, 2026.

Every time we see this game, I continue to be impressed by how everything looks as we're getting close to its release. The graphics look amazing, the gameplay looks smooth and fun to play, and it seems to be an interesting story with a younger James Bond here, as I'm curious to see how it plays out. Looking forward to seeing how the final game will turn out once it's released in three months.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is a collection of action-adventure stealth games developed and published by Konami, which includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel. The collection will be released on PS5 on August 27, 2026.

Oh my god, yes! Finally! Love that Konami is doing this, as these games were stuck on the consoles that they were released in for so long and never got re-released, so this is awesome. Adding Metal Gear: Ghost Babel was such a nice surprise that I didn't see coming, but I loved it. Can't wait to replay these games again on modern consoles once they're released in six months.

Darwin's Paradox! is a platformer developed by ZDT Studio and ZeDrimeTim and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on PS5 on April 2, 2026.

It's been a while since we last saw this game, but glad to see that we finally got a release date for the game as it's coming a lot sooner than expected. Love that the demo for this game will have a Metal Gear stealth segment, which is awesome. This looks to be a fun platformer featuring an octopus, and the fact that we got a demo for it available now by the time you're reading this is great. This game has a lot of potential, and I hope it does well once it's released in two months.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse is a Metroidvania game developed by Evil Empire and Motion Twin and published by Konami. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

Oh my freaking god! We finally got a new Castlevania game after more than a decade! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! My goodness, I never thought we would get a new Castlevania game, but we did, and it looks incredible. The fact that this game is developed by the team that did Dead Cells is incredible, and the gameplay looks so much fun. The art style is reminiscent of Dead Cells as well, which I can get behind. I just can't believe we got a new Castlevania game. It's surreal to me. Regardless, I'm super happy about it, and I can't wait to see more of it once it's released later this year.

SILENT HILL: Townfall is a survival horror game developed by Screen Burn Interactive and published by Annapurna Interactive and Konami. The game is set to be released on PS5 in 2026.

We knew that this game was in development, but the fact that it's coming out this year when Silent Hill f just came out last year is insane. However, love the different setting and atmosphere that this game has compared to Silent Hill f, but it still has that horror aspect to it that we love from the Silent Hill series, and I love it for that. We also got a more in-depth look at the game with the Silent Hill Tranmission which is cool. Can't wait to see more of this game once it's released later this year.

Rev. NOiR is a role-playing game developed and published by Konami, which will be released on PS5 in the future.

What the heck, Konami?! How are you guys keeping putting out banger after banger in this presentation?! My god! In all seriousness, Konami doing a new original IP with a JRPG is something I'm down for, as everything we saw in this trailer looks great. The graphics look beautiful, the character designs look nice, the gameplay looks fun, and it has very good music as well. Very curious to see more of this game and hope to see more in the future.

A new John Wick game is developed by Saber Interactive and published by Lionsgate. The game will be released on PS5 in the future.

Okay, I didn't expect a new John Wick game to be announced here, but this was a nice surprise, and it looks great. Of course, they would have to have Keanu Reeves play John Wick here, as it only makes sense. Gameplay looks like a lot of fun and brutal, as it looks great overall. Curious to see more of this game and how it turns out once we get more of it.

Marathon is a first-person shooter developed and published by Bungie, which will be released on PS5 and PC on March 5, 2026.

It's been a long time since we saw anything from Marathon, but glad to see it again as it officially has a release date and it's coming a lot sooner than expected. They also have a Server Slam, which runs from February 26 to March 2, 2026, to test out the game online for players to try. This is a great way for players to try out the game to see if they like it. This game has a lot of potential, and we'll see how it turns out once it's released next month.

SAROS is an action game developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5 on April 30, 2026.

Every time we see this game, I continue to be impressed by it as it keeps looking better and better. Love the amount of customization you can do in this game to make the game easier or difficult, depending on your mood. Also, the worlds that players get to explore in this game look very beauitful and it should be fun to explore while taking out enemies in the process. Can't wait to play the game myself once it's released in two months.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a fighting game developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to be released on PS5 and PC on August 6, 2026.

We haven't seen anything new from this game since they first revealed it back at the PlayStation State of Play in June of last year. However, glad to see more info on the game and the release date, as I'm so hyped for it. Adding Magik, Wolverine, and Danger to the roster are great picks, especially Danger, as she was definitely out of left field, but definitely welcomed for sure. Not only that, it seems like gameplay is a bit faster than the last time we saw it, too, with the quick tag in and out, which should definitely be beneficial in a fighting game like this. I'm quite bumped that there will only be twenty playable characters at launch, but we're getting DLC for the game, which I can't complain about at all. Plus, the story mode for this game should be quite interesting. Can't wait to see more of this game and play it once it's released in six months.

God of War Trilogy Remake is a project developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment to remake the original God of War trilogy that was released on PS2. The games are currently in development.

Oh my god! Yes! This is finally happening! Yes! I had a feeling that they would go back to the original trilogy and make some changes to it, but the fact that they're going all the way with it is wild to me. The fact that they got the original voice actor for Kratos back for this remake trilogy is awesome. Plus, I feel like the original God of War trilogy hasn't really aged well, so doing a remake project on this is a brilliant idea. It'll be a while until we see anything on the trilogy, but very happy that it does exist and looking forward to seeing how it will turn out.

God of War Sons of Sparta is a 2D Metroidvania game developed by Mega Cat Studios and Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is now available on PS5.

Wait, what?! We got a 2D Metroidvania game?! Holy crap! Man, I never thought we would see a 2D Metroidvania God of War game, but here we are, and it looks incredible. This game looks to take place before Kratos became a father and a god, so this is basically Kratos' origin story, which I'm totally for. I really love the art style of this game, and the gameplay looks so smooth in terms of the combat and the style it has. Not only that, but the fact that this game is available now to play is awesome. Can't wait to play this game once I have the chance.

Overall, this was an excellent presentation from PlayStation. The moment that PlayStation announced that this presentation would be an hour long, I knew something big would happen here, and we got that and more. This presentation had a bit of everything from different genres, which is greatly appreciated. Not only that, it had a great mix of first-party, third-party, and indie games here, which is awesome to see. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is coming to PC, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is coming to PlayStation Plus this month, Tekken Dark Resurrection is coming to PlayStation Classics in March 2026, Time Crisis is coming to PlayStation Classics in May 2026, and Big Walk is coming to PlayStation Plus this year are great announcements. However, to me, Konami was the star of the presentation as I didn't expect them to bring in as many games as they did here, and it was awesome. This presentation was E3 worthy in my opinion, and I'm curious to see what else PlayStation has for the rest of the year.
