Gaming Influence: Predictions - Summer Game Fest 2025 ~ Nintendo
Hello everyone,
Welcome to Gaming Influence, a reboot of the same name I created in WrestleCorp. I will be giving my thoughts on certain video games and video game series, as well as video game movies, video game anime, video game digital presentations, etc.
For this edition of Gaming Influence, I'll be giving my predictions for Summer Game Fest 2025, which will start on June 6 and will continue in the next few weeks. For the predictions in this article/editorial, I'll mainly focus on Nintendo.
Anyway, let's get started!
For further details on what is Summer Game Fest is, check out this article/editorial here: Summer Game Fest Predictions 2024: Nintendo
I'll be giving my predictions for a few video game companies on what game announcements will happen during Summer Game Fest time, and will be doing one for each video game company before the show starts, by having what I think will happen and what I want to happen.
For these predictions, I will be talking about Nintendo, so let's get to it!
Thinks
One month after the launch of Switch 2 and Mario Kart World, this is Nintendo's next big first-party game that'll be released within a month, and I expect to see Nintendo to give it one final push before its release. When we do see the game again, I expect a new trailer with more gameplay that will blow people's minds who need to get the game ASAP. Either way, we'll definitely see this game during the Summer Game Fest.
This is another game that Nintendo showcased in the Switch 2 Direct, and with it coming out this summer, I expect to see Nintendo marketing and promoting this game a lot before its release. When we do see it again, I expect another trailer with gameplay and a release date. This game looks to be a lot of fun with its use of the mouse controls of the Joy-Cons, and we're going to see more of it regardless during the Summer Game Fest.
Even though this game is an expansion of Super Mario Party Jamboree, I still expect Nintendo to promote and market this game a little bit to remind people that this expansion is only available on Switch 2. I don't see Nintendo giving this game a whole lot of attention, as it'll probably be in a sizzle reel with the release date reminding people that this game expansion is coming to Switch 2. It won't be a big focus, but do see it being showcased at Summer Game Fest regardless.
This is also another game that I expect Nintendo to promote and market a little bit before its release to remind people that this expansion is coming, and it's only available on Switch 2. I don't see this game getting a big spotlight as well as it'll be in a sizzle reel with the release date reminding people that it's coming. Don't expect to see much more of this expansion, but we'll see it during Summer Game Fest time for sure.
Despite the game supposedly releasing this year, we still don't have an official release of the game, and I feel like showcasing the game once again during the Summer Game Fest from Nintendo is the best way to do so. When we see this game again, I expect a new trailer with more gameplay and a story synopsis with a release date. Regardless, we're going to see more of this game from Nintendo, and when we do see it, it's going to be awesome.
Despite the Pokémon Company already announcing the release date for the game as well as a Pokémon Presents for it on July 22, 2025, I still think that Nintendo will help promote and market this game before the Pokémon Presents next month. Granted, when they do show it, it'll probably be a teaser with the Pokémon Company showcasing more of it in the Pokémon Presents next month. Regardless, I have a feeling that we're going to see Pokémon Legends: Z-A from Nintendo before the Pokémon Presents next month, I just feel it happening.
When they first announced this game, I lost my mind as Kirby Air Ride was one of my favorite games on the GameCube, so to see a sequel to that game after twenty-one years is insane. With this game supposedly coming out this year, I expect another trailer with gameplay and a release date. This is one of my most anticipated games of the year, and I hope it delivers, as we'll definitely see it during Summer Game Fest time.
With this game being released sometime this winter, I feel like Summer Game Fest time is the perfect time to showcase more of this game to get people excited about it. When we do see more of this game, I expect another trailer with more gameplay and a possible release date. I expect this game to be focused a bit during Summer Game Fest time, and looking forward to seeing how this game will turn out once it is released.
With how huge this collection is and how popular the series is in Japan, I expect Nintendo to heavily market and promote this game as they'll do it on the next Nintendo Direct during Summer Game Fest, despite the collection now having a release date. When we do see it again, we'll see another trailer with more gameplay and a reminder of the release date for the players on when it's released, which is in four months. Either way, Nintendo will make this collection a big deal, and we'll probably see it during the Summer Game Fest.
When they first showcased this game, it blew my mind as I didn't expect Nintendo to get an exclusive FromSoftware Soulslike game similar to Bloodborne, which is insane. Everything we've seen of this game looks to have so much potential, as I definitely want to see more of it for sure. Once we do see it again, I expect another trailer with more gameplay. I don't expect a release date, but we'll definitely see more of this game at the Summer Game Fest.
It has been eight years since we got a new original 3D Super Mario platformer, and I feel like it's about time that we get one, and showcasing it in the Summer Game Fest would be the place to do it. Whether the next 3D Super Mario platformer is similar to Super Mario Odyssey or Bowser's Fury in Super Mario 3D World, we're going to be in for a treat regardless. Either way, we'll definitely see a new original 3D Super Mario platformer from Nintendo during Summer Game Fest time, and I feel it.
Monolith Soft has been one of Nintendo's best video game studios and continues to do so with the Xenoblade Chronicles series, as well as being a support studio too. Even though Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition recently came out, I think Monolith Soft will showcase their next game that they've been working on for a long time, and I have a feeling we'll see it from Nintendo during the Summer Game Fest. No matter what the game might be, it's going to be amazing, and I'm sure that Nintendo will showcase during the Summer Game Fest.
I still can't believe that this game exists, but we're getting it anyway, which will come out next year, which I'm very excited for. Even though I doubt that the game will have an official release date, I do expect another trailer for the game with more gameplay. Regardless, I have a feeling we'll see more of this game from Nintendo during the Summer Game Fest.
Just like Rhythm Heaven, this caught me off guard as I didn't expect this to return either, but I'm so happy regardless. Just like Rhythm Heaven, I don't expect a release for the game, but I do expect another trailer with gameplay, and that's enough for me. Looking forward to seeing more of this game, and I have a feeling we'll see it again during Summer Game Fest time.
This was a huge surprise for me with that Nintendo Direct that happened earlier this year in March, as this is a PlayStation IP, and it's a new original game too! With this game supposedly coming out this year, I expect Nintendo to promote and market this game with another trailer with more gameplay and a release date. Still wild to me that Nintendo is showcasing this game, but I'm there and I have a feeling it'll show up at Summer Game Fest time.
This was another game that caught me off guard, as it looks so old-school and cool at the same time, which is awesome. This game reminds me of the old beat 'em up games in the 90s, and this game will probably deliver, as we'll probably get another trailer with more gameplay along with a release date, as it's supposed to be released this year. Regardless, with Nintendo promoting this game a lot, I see them showcasing it again on a Nintendo Direct during the Summer Game Fest.
Wants
Alright, that's all I think will happen at Summer Game Fest for Nintendo, but let's go over what I want from Nintendo. Now, these games that I want might happen or have no chance at all, but hoping for it to happen, so let's get started.
I still can't believe that this remake exists, but I'm totally for it as I believe this series deserves to be played more by other players out there. Even though it won't happen, I hope it does because this series deserves the recognition, and it's a good starting point for people to start the series too, as it's the first game of the first series, so play and buy it if you can. I would greatly appreciate it.
This is a game that caught me off guard, as I didn't expect this series to get another game, but totally down for it. Even though I don't think Nintendo will showcase this game, I would love them to do so for the series to get more recognition. I don't see it happening sadly.
Even though I'm excited for this remaster and glad that it's available on modern platforms for players to play, I doubt that Nintendo would promote this game again since they already did it twice. Granted, I hope they do, as this series deserves more love, but I doubt it. We can hope, though.
We've seen promotion and marketing for this game by Nintendo multiple times already, so I doubt that Nintendo would showcase it again in a Nintendo Direct during Summer Game Fest. Despite that, I still want to see this game get spotlighted again before its release next month. It won't happen, sadly, but we can hope.
Just like EVERYBODY'S GOLF HOT SHOTS, this game is also a PlayStation IP, but it'll be on a Nintendo console, which is crazy! Regardless, I don't think Nintendo will promote this game due to the fact that this game already has a release date, which comes out next month. Regardless, I would love to see it happen, but I don't think it will show up in a Nintendo Direct during Summer Fest time, sadly.
This was another surprise that I liked back in the Nintendo Direct earlier this year in March, as it was one of the best STORY OF SEASONS games, so seeing a remake of it is awesome. Unfortunately, with Nintendo already promoting this game numerous times, I don't see them promoting this game during the Summer Game Fest. However, I hope they do, but I don't see it happening.
This is one of the indie games that was showcased in a Nintendo Direct earlier in March that caught my attention, as I do enjoy the art style that this game has and the gameplay it has. However, I don't think Nintendo will give a big spotlight to a game like this during a big event like Summer Game Fest in a Nintendo Direct, but I would love to be proven wrong. I just don't see it happening.
This was another game that caught me off guard, as Tamagotchi hasn't made a huge splash in a long time, but it has a new game, regardless of which is quite cool. Just like the previous games I mentioned here, it got promoted twice already by Nintendo, so I doubt it'll show up again during Summer Game Fest. However, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it happening.
This game was showcased back in a Nintendo Direct last year in June during the Summer Game Fest, and we haven't seen anything from this game since. I would love to see this game, but I don't know if we'll see it at the Summer Game Fest from Nintendo this year. I would love to see it happen, but I just don't think it's happening personally.
It's been nine years since the last original Star Fox game, with Star Fox Zero in 2016 on Wii U, and I feel like the series deserves another shot. However, they can't redo Star Fox 64 again as they need to do something different. As of now, I don't see Nintendo bringing back Star Fox anytime soon, but I hope to see the series back, and if so, I want to do something different with the franchise that is not a reboot of Star Fox 64.
Another franchise that hasn't been seen for a long time with Kid Icarus: Uprising, which was the last game of this series on the Nintendo 3DS back in 2012. This series has the potential to be as big as the other Nintendo franchises, but with no new game in the series for twelve years, I just don't know if it will happen at this point. However, I hope I'm wrong, as I would love to see the series make a comeback, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon.
Like every other franchise I mentioned here, the last game in the series was Golden Sun: Dark Dawn on the Nintendo DS back in 2010, so it's been fifteen years since then. Even though we got Golden Sun and Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age on Nintendo Switch Online on the GBA app, I still want a new original Golden Sun from Nintendo. It probably won't happen, but I can dream.
Yep. This will never stop until it finally happens, dang it! We want Mother 3 in the West as it got released on Nintendo Switch Online on the GBA app in Japan, so come on, Nintendo! Give us Mother 3! Thank you.
Well, those are my predictions for Nintendo at the Summer Game Fest.
